A young model by the name of Micah-Lee James came to Double Vision photography needing to update her portfolio requesting that we do something resembling a cowgirl theme.
She requested we search a location outside the photo studio of Douglasdale, Fourways for her photoshoot. I went about looking at venues with a country feel to it and remembered that I shot some long exposure landscape photos and horses at a venue just other side Steyn City in Fourways at a place called Helderfontein. The venue was perfect as it has small lakes, horses, long grass pathways and derelict buildings which was great for different scenes adding a nice variety for her portfolio. What made this shoot a little more humorous was Micah wearing boots, a short country dress and a stetson.
The unfortunate circumstance for Micah was having to deal with mother nature as it was 7am on a freezing winters morning in an open field surrounded by water and horse trails. Lets just say Micah was walking from set to set with a couple blankets wrapped around her, a flask in one hand whilst the Double Vision Photography crew was comfortable and warm. With no surprise Micah was great to work with, very friendly and outgoing but also a true professional making my life as a photographer on a cold winters morning an absolute breeze.
